New England Nature Photos

One of the largest and most economically influential cities in the world, New York, is known for its whirlwind of entertainment, fabulous shopping, fine dining, and nonstop broadway shows. It’s famous attractions on every block will leave you wanting more as there is never enough time to visit them all. When people think of New York, they think of the hustle bustle of the city, but there is another world of natural beauty as you head into Upstate New York. The majority of New York’s geography is filled with mountains, lakes, forests, rivers, and meadows. From the Catskill Mountains to Lake Champlain Valley nature is abundant. There will may many opportunities to take some beautiful nature photos.

One of my favorite lakes is Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains with 32 miles in length and 190’ deep in places. One of my favorite places to stay is at the Sagamore Hotel sits on the edge of Lake George with unparalleled views and fresh mountain air. Upstate New York has four very distinct seasons, each one is as fabulous as the other. Summertime offers abundant sight seeing, hiking, biking, boat cruises, and water skiing. Fall is another special time to visit for a showcase of vibrant fall colors throughout the state!

Vermont is known for its spectacular fall foliage display with a rainbow of colors across the hills and mountains. There are many quaint towns to stop by and sample their maple syrup and  delicious cheese from a local farm.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”
– John Muir
